NFL DRAFT (part 2)

Anyone that knows me knows that I’m a true blue die hard Raider fan. Been that way since I was 5 and watched in agony their season end with Franco Harris running down the field in the Championship Game back in’72. But, through my son Tyler, who is a die hard Chargers fan, and our decision to become season ticket holders back when they were still in San Diego, the Chargers are my second team.

If you want predictions on who the Chargers will or should draft, then go see my son’s posts or tune into his podcast Guilty as Charged. But, here’s my take on the Chargers 2020 draft…

The Chargers can’t do any wrong this year because they already have the team that can take them to the playoffs. The gods just took it to them last season and Rivers, as great as he has been for an entire career as the Chargers lead man, just didn’t have it last year. But everyone knows the Chargers have the core of a very good team and no one predicted they’d lose so many games last season. The Chargers need depth. Just like every other team. But the Chargers have a knack for key injuries. So depth is what they should look for in this years draft. Unless it’s Tua. If he’s there, grab him. If not, depth. Tyrod Taylor is a solid QB and has the tools to lead the team into the playoffs. Depth is their sword. Live with it. Die without it. I fear the Chargers more than Denver for sure. The fight right now is not who can beat the Chiefs but who can match them in W’s and get into the playoffs. It’s a hard task getting through the playoffs because at that point EVERYONE’s good and you need as much luck as you need skill. The Chargers had their full share and more of bad luck last season. So watch out. They’re hungry and due this season.
