The Las Vegas Raiders went old school Al Davis style and picked Alabama WR Henry Ruggs III with the 12th pick in the NFL Draft. Ruggs is a speed demon that used to be a Raiders trait for wide receiver. Not only is Ruggs fast, check out his slam dunk videos and you’ll see the boy can get vertical! Hands? He dropped only three passes last season. I love this pick!
With the 19th pick in the NFL Draft, the Raiders selected Ohio State’s other CB Damon Arnette. Arnette took some good advice and stayed in college last season and improved his stock value. Arnette rode opposite Okudah and pretty much held his own. Improved his skills and turned into a very good zone cover guy. The Raiders definitely needed help with their defensive secondary. Which, being conservative, sucked.
So, the Raiders will now try to stretch opposing defenses by adding Ruggs to their arsenal and try to get some help in the defensive secondary with Arnette. They now have time to think about who to pick next as they do not have any round two picks.
